The Post is pleased to share this update from Brian I. Sperber, Esq. of GALA New York:
2013 was an eventful year for GALA New York. We held two happy hours, one in celebration of NYC Pride Week and the other with a distinctive Halloween theme. Additionally, we also held a staged reading of a play written by a GALA New York member at a theater in the West Village as well as attempted to throw a labor day outing to the Jersey Shore. GALA has also been working with other groups within the New York City alumni chapter as evidenced by our co-sponsored potluck with CEBA New York last month.
In looking towards the future, GALA has our End of Winter Happy Hour planned for Tuesday February 25th from 7-9 p.m. at Vlada Lounge (West 51st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.) We are also in the process of investigating other programming ideas such as a museum day, LGBT History Tour of Greenwich Village, as well as partnering with other schools to further strengthen the collegiate LGBT community in New York.
To my planning board, specifically, Dirk Manhin, Geno Stroupe, Nick Giannini, and Andrew Remissong: thank you for all of your assistance, guidance, ideas, and enthusiasm. This year would not have been nearly as successful as it was if it weren’t for all of your help. I look forward to continuing to work with you in the upcoming year.
GALA New York is always open to suggestions. We would love to hear your event ideas. Please send any you have to email@example.com,and as always I look forward to seeing each of you at future GALA New York events.
